Twelve Knights Honored on College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Teams

Bellarmine University has been recognized for its academic excellence as twelve of its student-athletes were named to College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Teams. The organization announced that Bellarmine had six student-athletes each on the Women’s At-Large Team and the Men’s At-Large Team.

Among the women recognized on the Women’s At-Large Team were Bente Moorman and Alexa Rastigue from the field hockey team, Teresa Schmidt from the digital media program, Kailey Workman majoring in biochemistry, Josephine Bonin majoring in business administration, and Alaina Schmitt studying communication. On the Men’s At-Large Team, John Alie, Christian Della Rocco, Aidan Fearn, Benny O’Rourk, Justin Wescoat from the lacrosse team, and Zac Cowan from the wrestling team were recognized for their academic achievements.

To be eligible for consideration for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and also meet specific criteria related to playing time and participation in their respective sports. For lacrosse and field hockey athletes must have appeared in at least 90% of games or started in at least 66% of games while participants in golf and wrestling must compete in at least 70% of events.
