Utilizing technology and light to enhance dragon fruit growth boosts efficiency, productivity, and quality

ADK Export Import Co. specializes in exporting exotic fruits, spices, and nuts. Their main export product is dragon fruit, which is primarily grown in Vietnam’s southern Binh Thuan province. In addition to their own orchards, they work with other quality growers to supply fruit for export.

In Vietnam, there are numerous growers of dragon fruit who typically collaborate with exporters to efficiently export goods. Each party has specific roles and tasks, leading to cooperative support rather than competition. Dragon fruit thrives in hot and warm temperatures, making it suitable for humid climates like the southern provinces of Vietnam. The soil needs to be well-drained and nutrient-rich while the tree requires ample water and shade for optimal growth and productivity.

Due to advancements in science and technology, many innovative techniques and intensive farming methods have been applied to dragon fruit cultivation. This includes self-irrigation systems, remote monitoring and control, and the use of artificial lights to enhance production efficiency, increase productivity, and improve product quality while reducing risks from unpredictable weather conditions.

Apart from dragon fruit, ADK also grows limes for export, primarily in western provinces like Long An, Dong Thap, and Tra Vinh. They export around 10 40’RF containers per month
