Massachusetts locations of Bob’s Stores are closing down. Bob’s Stores, a discount retail chain that has been serving customers for over 50 years, is liquidating its physical stores due to financial struggles. Dave Barton, the President of Bob’s Stores, expressed gratitude to the community, customers, vendors, suppliers and employees for their support throughout the years. The closing sales at Bob’s Stores kicked off on Friday, June 28 with discounts ranging from 30% to 70% off on various items such as workwear, footwear, team wear, casual clothing, furniture and equipment. Customers with store credit and gift cards will be able to use them until the stores’ final day of operation. However no returns will be accepted at the store locations. The original founder of Bob’s Stores was Bob Lapidus who opened his first store “Bob’s Surplus” in 1954. Sadly he passed away in 2007 at the age of 78.
