Brussels Airlines has appointed Belgian Dieter Vranckx as its new chairman of the board of directors. This was announced on Monday by the airline, which is fully owned by Lufthansa Group. Vranckx, who previously served as CEO of Brussels Airlines, will replace Christina Foerster, who is leaving Lufthansa.
Vranckx has a long history within the Lufthansa Group and has held various leadership positions in subsidiaries. He began his career at Brussels Airlines in 2018 as CFO before becoming CEO in 2021. He later moved to Swiss, another company within the Lufthansa Group, as CEO. Currently, he serves as Chief Commercial Officer for the Lufthansa Group.
With his appointment as chairman of Brussels Airlines, Vranckx brings a wealth of experience in the aviation industry and a deep understanding of Lufthansa Group’s operations to his role. His leadership is expected to steer the airline towards continued success and growth in the future.
