Celebrating a Legacy: Dr. Carrington Bids Farewell as President of the Danforth Center

As the managing partner at Edward Jones and chair of the Danforth Center Board of Directors, Penny Pennington, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Carrington for his leadership and impact on the organization as she announced that he will be stepping down on July 1, 2025. After overseeing significant growth and development during his 13-year tenure, Dr. Carrington emphasized the importance of planning for a smooth transition and highlighted the benefits that a new leader will bring in terms of fresh perspectives, ideas, and talents.

Reflecting on his time as President, Dr. Carrington thanked the staff, partners, and supporters who have helped the organization succeed. He has overseen significant growth and development at the Danforth Center during his time as President. This includes doubling the staff, expanding scientific research initiatives, establishing new facilities such as the William H. Danforth building and the Field Research Site. He has also prioritized moving research outcomes into the marketplace through spin-out company formation and the development of the 39North innovation district.
