Dignity Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health, has partnered with SacValley MedShare to expand the organization’s health information exchange network from regional to statewide. For the past decade, SacValley MedShare has facilitated the secure exchange of health information among healthcare providers in Northern California to support population health initiatives. With this new partnership, SacValley MedShare will offer its health data exchange services to 30 hospitals across the state.
John Helvey, executive director of SacValley MedShare, stated that becoming a statewide health information exchange was a natural progression for the organization. He explained that this alliance with Dignity Health enhances their capabilities and allows them to collaborate more effectively in healthcare delivery throughout California.
The Data Exchange Framework is a crucial component in California’s efforts to transform healthcare and improve connections between healthcare and social services. Adnan Hamid, California Regional CIO of CommonSpirit Health, emphasized the importance of this partnership in transforming healthcare through innovative partnerships and technology. By working with SacValley MedShare, they aim to improve access to vital health information and create a healthier future for all Californians.
