Monkey Business: Get to Know Ticky, New York City’s Internet-Famous Tow-Truck Monkey

A 3-year-old spider monkey named Ticky has been bringing joy to both her owner and the people in The Bronx. She is a clingy monkey who loves being around her owner, Junior, at all times. Ticky has made his dream of having a monkey come true since he was a child.

The video that went viral showed Ticky gleefully exploring Junior’s work truck and checking herself out in the side-view mirror. While Junior enjoys the attention she receives, it can be overwhelming at times. People are often eager to take pictures or videos with his unusual pet, and Ticky seems to enjoy the spotlight.

Ticky splits her time between New York and Florida because of the weather. While Florida allows monkeys to be kept as pets with a special permit, monkeys are not allowed in New York City. Despite this, Ticky and Junior’s bond is clear, and they make quite the pair as she dons a diaper and explores the world with her loyal owner by her side.
