Chris Paul signs with Spurs to team up with Wembanyama

In 2021, the San Antonio Spurs signed veteran guard Chris Paul to a one-year contract. This move pairs him with rookie of the year Victor Wembanyama. Prior to joining the Spurs, Paul was waived by the Golden State Warriors, who would have owed him $30 million for the upcoming season. However, the Spurs will be paying him around $11 million.

In his previous season with the Warriors, Paul averaged 9.2 points and 6.8 assists in 58 games. Throughout his career, he has been widely regarded as one of the best point guards of all time and has achieved several accolades, including NBA Rookie of the Year, NBA All-Star Most Valuable Player, and two Olympic gold medals.
