Pierre Sage has been officially appointed as Lyon’s new permanent head coach

Lyon has appointed Pierre Sage as their permanent head coach, following his successful stint in the role on an interim basis. Since taking over in November, when the team was struggling in the Ligue 1 relegation zone, Sage has led Lyon to Europa League qualification and the Coupe de France final.

The 45-year-old’s success has earned him a long-term contract that will keep him at the helm until June 2026. In addition to Sage, three new staff members will be joining the coaching team. Jorge Maciel, a former Valenciennes coach, will be responsible for overseeing training methodology.

With Sage now officially appointed as the head coach, Lyon fans can look forward to continued success under his leadership. His guidance has already brought positive results for the team, and the club is optimistic about what the future holds with Sage at the helm.
