Lee Health expresses gratitude to its volunteers.

As a journalist, I wanted to take the opportunity to express my gratitude for the dedicated volunteer workforce at Lee Health. The health system is grateful for the service and support provided by volunteers who contribute to almost every department in their hospitals and offices across Southwest Florida.

Lee Health values its volunteers, who make a meaningful impact and enhance the experiences of patients, visitors, and staff. Many of these volunteers have personal experience with the health system as former patients or family members of patients. For example, Reba George became a volunteer after her positive experience as a patient at Lee Health. Her story can be found at https://tinyurl.com/YTReba.

At Lee Health, anyone with a desire to make a difference and assist others can become a volunteer, regardless of medical or nursing background. Some of our volunteers have shared their reasons for choosing to volunteer with us, which can be viewed at https://tinyurl.com/YTVolunteers.

Larry Antonucci, M.D., MBA, serves as president and CEO of Lee Health, which is Southwest Florida’s primary source for healthcare services. The health system offers acute care, emergency care, rehabilitation and diagnostic services, health and wellness education, community outreach and advocacy programs (which can be learned more about by visiting LeeHealth.org).
