Oliver Rowland has provided an update on his health following his absence from the Portland double-header last weekend due to illness. Nissan announced on Friday that Rowland had not traveled to Portland and reserve driver Caio Collet was called up to replace him for the critical Formula E rounds in the United States. Fortunately, Rowland’s health has improved since missing Portland, and he expects to be ready for the London E-Prix season finale.
In a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday morning, Rowland expressed his gratitude for the support he received from Nissan in providing him with specialist help for his health issues. Despite missing both races in Portland, Rowland remains in the championship fight. Although he is now in fifth place in the drivers’ championship, he is just 36 points behind Nick Cassidy, who failed to score any points last weekend.
Even though Rowland is considered an outsider in the title race, it would be a remarkable story if the Nissan driver were to claim the championship crown in his home country at the British capital. With his health improving and his determination to compete in the upcoming races, Rowland is focused on giving his best performance in the London E-Prix season finale.
