Tennessee football falls short of top 25 ranking in power rankings

EA Sports College Football 25 has released their overall team power rankings for the upcoming game on Friday. Unfortunately, Tennessee did not make the list despite finishing 9-4 last season and securing a victory over Iowa in the Citrus Bowl, who ranks at No. 25 on the list.

ESPN placed Tennessee at No. 9 in its 2024 College Football Power Index (FPI) and ranked them as No. 13 nationally in recruiting and No. 8 in the SEC by On3. Additionally, Bill Connelly of ESPN ranked Tennessee at No. 16 in his Post-Spring SP+ Rankings, which take into account returning production, recent recruiting, and recent history.

Despite these rankings, Georgia leads the top 25 power rankings with an overall rating of 95 OVR followed by Ohio State and Oregon tied at 93 OVR. This means that Tennessee will not be featured in the game’s rankings as they did not make the top 25.

EA Sports College Football 25 is set to be released on July 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the game to see how their favorite teams stack up against the competition.
