Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder in the 400m hurdles, once again showcased her dominance in the event by breaking her own world record at the US Trials in Eugene. She crossed the finish line in an astonishing 50.65 seconds, a full second faster than her previous record.

The race was one of the fastest in history, with four women finishing inside 53 seconds.
