Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder in the 400m hurdles, once again showcased her dominance in the event by breaking her own world record at the US Trials in Eugene. She crossed the finish line in an astonishing 50.65 seconds, a full second faster than her previous record.
The race was one of the fastest in history, with four women finishing inside 53 seconds. Despite intense competition, McLaughlin-Levrone emerged victorious by nearly two seconds, demonstrating her unparalleled speed and skill on the track. At the halfway mark, McLaughlin-Levrone had already built a substantial lead over her closest rival, Anna Cockrell. She continued to push herself harder over the final 200m and ultimately crossed the finish line with a new world record time of 50.65 seconds. Cockrell finished in second place with a personal best of 52.64 seconds, while Jasmine Jones came in third with 52.77 seconds.
